My journeys since 2001 have been very productive and transformative ones.  Coming to IU as a rather experienced TESOL practitioner and having conduct some research, I thought I had known virtually enough to jump right into research for my dissertation.  However, before the first semester ended, I realized that there was much more to learn and many new worlds to explore. I thus opened my heart to new horizons of knowledge, and I am now very far from where I began, ready to take on painstaking, meaningful, and original research. This portfolio sums up what I have done, my reflections on relevant issues, and how these have inspired and helped me conceptualize my dissertation research frameworks.

Outline of the Portfolio

The links above are lined up in a logical order, but you do not have to follow it strictly. Each of these links is complete by itself.  Relevant works are linked from within each of the following pages, where appropriate.

  • Resume:           This sums up my academic and professional career so far.
  • Courses:           This lists the courses taken as part of the degree requirements.
  • Research:         This highlights selected research projects conducted since 2001.  I also discuss my
                            transformed research interests.
  • Presentations:  This highlights conference presentations since 2001.
  • Course Design: Designing courses is a skill I consider necessary for language educators. I have done a
few and found the process very constructive.
  • Next Journey:  This tentatively weaves the above into tentative thoughts for my dissertation.
